Mahindra Expands the Veero

Mahindra Expands the Veero Range: New Veero 1.1 XXL CNG and Upgraded Veero Diesel

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., India’s leading manufacturer of utility vehicles and a market leader in the sub-3.5-tonne LCV segment, has once again strengthened its small commercial vehicle line-up. On September 8, 2026, the company announced two significant additions to its Veero range: the New Veero 1.1 XXL CNG and the Upgraded Veero Diesel. Together, these launches build on the momentum of the original Veero, first introduced in September 2024, which debuted Mahindra’s Urban Prosper Platform (UPP) — India’s first ground-up, multi-energy modular commercial vehicle platform.

A Platform Built for Multiple Energy Sources

The Veero’s biggest differentiator has always been its underlying architecture. The UPP was designed from scratch to support multiple powertrains — diesel, CNG, and beyond — on a single modular base. This flexibility allows Mahindra to roll out new energy variants without reinventing the vehicle each time, and it’s exactly this platform strategy that has enabled the latest CNG and diesel updates.

Introducing the New Veero 1.1 XXL CNG

Purpose-built for intra-city logistics, the New Veero 1.1 XXL CNG is aimed squarely at businesses that need to move goods efficiently through crowded urban streets. It offers a 1.1-tonne payload capacity paired with a segment-leading 2,900 mm (9.5-foot) cargo deck, giving operators more loading volume without increasing the vehicle’s overall footprint. A tight 5.1-metre turning radius makes it easier to navigate congested lanes and tricky loading bays.

Under the hood, the vehicle runs on a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated engine producing 48.5 kW of power and 98 Nm of torque. Mahindra states an ARAI-certified fuel efficiency of 21.4 km/kg, and with a combined petrol-plus-CNG range of over 450 km, the vehicle is engineered to keep operators on the road longer with fewer refuelling stops. This makes it particularly well-suited for FMCG distribution, fruit and vegetable transport, e-commerce and parcel deliveries, and general market-load logistics.

Customer deliveries of the New Veero 1.1 XXL CNG are expected to begin around September 20, 2026.

The Upgraded Veero Diesel: More Tech, More Comfort

The Veero Diesel has long carried first-in-segment features such as a touchscreen infotainment system, power windows, a driver airbag, and a reverse parking camera. With this update, Mahindra pushes the segment forward again with a new 26.03 cm touchscreen supporting Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and multi-language voice commands. Long-haul drivers also gain cruise control, while LNT (load and torque-related) technology adds another layer of driving convenience.

Comfort upgrades round out the package: a heater with AC, a reclining driver’s seat with adjustable headrest, flat-fold seats for on-the-go rest, door armrests, and a D+2 seating configuration. Mahindra’s iMAXX connectivity suite now includes remote AC control alongside more than 50 existing features such as vehicle tracking, geo-fencing, route planning, vehicle health monitoring, and fuel tracking. Power windows and fast-charging ports are now standard across all variants.

The Upgraded Veero Diesel became available to customers starting September 8, 2026 — the same day as the announcement.

Pricing at a Glance

The New Veero 1.1 XXL CNG (1.1 XXL SD variant) is priced at approximately ₹8.25 lakh (V2) and ₹8.55 lakh (V4), ex-showroom, with a small premium for the pastel riversand colour option.

The Upgraded Veero Diesel spans a wider variant matrix — from the 1.5 XL SD at around ₹8.29 lakh, up to higher-spec configurations like the 1.6 XXL SD and 1.6 XXL HD, which extend toward ₹9.45 lakh ex-showroom depending on trim and drivetrain. A modest premium applies for the grey colour option.

Why This Matters for Fleet Buyers and Small Business Owners

For businesses running intra-city delivery operations, the expanded Veero range offers a choice between fuel-economy-focused CNG operation and the added torque, comfort, and technology of the diesel line-up—all built on the same reliable, modular platform. Whether the priority is minimising running costs or maximising driver comfort on longer routes, Mahindra’s latest Veero updates are designed to give operators a vehicle that matches their specific business needs.
